Mayurbhanj: In a major crackdown, a joint team of special squad and police have arrested an alleged ganja mafia and seized one quintal of ganja, cash, gold jewellery from a house at Kaiankhunta village near Udala in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha on Thursday night.
The Mafia has been identified as Sarat Nayak of Kaiankhunta village under Kaptipada police limits.
Based on a tip off, the special squad along with the police conducted a joint raid at his house in Kaiankhunta, at his house in Udala NAC ward no. 3 and seized four and half quintals of Ganja, lakhs of cash and gold jewellery.
According to reports, he used to store the ganja in a box and later used to sell it in packets weighing one kilo each.
The team has initiated a probe into the matter.
