Kendrapara: The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court here today sent dreaded gangster Tito alias Syed Usman Ali to the Kendrapara Barimula Jail.
Tito was sent to the prison after the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch produced him post the end of his third phase three-day remand.
After taking him on remand twice (9 days) earlier, the STF had taken Tito for further investigation on July 13.
During the remands, the STF has stumbled upon several leads into Tito’s unholy nexus and illegal modus operandi.
The investigating agency had also grilled Tito’s wife Benazir on July 13 over the petrol pumps, landed property and a company named BIPL which she owns.
The STF had on July 12 confirmed the blocking and freezing of five accounts in name of Tito, his wife Benazir and other relatives from which ‘benaami’ transactions had taken place.
Tito has been under the STF’s radar following a police encounter in one of his hide-outs in Chandikhole of Jajpur district on June 30.
Sources at the police, meanwhile, informed that the gangster might also be taken on a fourth-phase of remand in near future in connection with other cases pending against him.
