Cuttack: Police have arrested four criminals while they were planning to commit a dacoity in Choudwar area late last night.
The accused have been identified as Ranjan Jethy (30), Bijaya Nayak (32), Kanhu Charan Behera (24) and Sukanat Swain (53). Police said another member of the gang managed to escape from the spot.
Police have also seized a country made revolver, one toy pistol, two rounds of ammunition and other sharp edged weapons from the gang. “The gang is involved in number of cases of dacoity and robbery in Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack. We are further verifying their antecedents,” said a police official.
