Bhubaneswar: Acting on a tip-off, a team of Balianta Police conducted a raid on a gambling den on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and arrested as many as eight gamblers last night.
Cops raided the gambling den in Talakapada village under Balianta Police Station limits all of a sudden and arrested the accused persons. They also seized cash worth lakhs, three bikes and seven mobile phones.
It is to be noted here that the cops had arrested 11 gamblers after conducting a raid on a gambling den running at a Kalyanmandap.
Robbery, loots, illegal liquor trading and gambling is increasing in Balianta area giving a challenge to the cops to maintain law and order.
