Rayagada: Tightening the noose around the illegal money wagers, police busted a gambling den in Bhabani Sahi of Rayagada district today and arrested at least eight persons.
The held gamblers have been identified as B Gourishankar, S Gouri Naidu, Saroj Kumar Gouda, Madhab Rao, T Nagaraju, A Gourishankar Rao, P Nageswar Rao and K Chandrasekhar.
A team of Rayagada Police conducted a raid after getting a tip-off on the gambling activity which was underway in Bhabani Sahi this morning and arrested the accused.
During the raid police got Rs 27,000 in cash which was being illegally waged along with six mobile phones from the spot and seized those.
While the held gamblers have been forwarded to court further investigation is underway in the case.
