Fuel price hike: BJD to protest across Odisha from Sept 7-9

Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will stage protest against the fuel price hike across Odisha from September 7 to 9, announced the party on Tuesday.

Briefing the press at the party headquarter here, senior BJD leader and Nayagarh MLA Arun Sahu said, members of Biju Mahila Janata Dal, Biju Yuva Janata Dal and Biju Chhatra Janata Dal will stage protests at petrol pumps across the state during the three days from 10 AM to 12 noon.

The former Law Minister also said the party activists will create awareness among fuel consumers regarding the record price hike.

Senior BJD leader and Brahmagiri MLA Sanjay Dasburma vehemently criticised the Narendra Modi Government at the centre and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the record rise in prices of petrol and diesel.

There has been a surge in fuel prices since last two weeks; petrol price reached Rs 81 per litre in backward districts like Nabarangpur and Koraput in Odisha.
