Bhubaneswar: Legislators of the opposition Congress on Tuesday reached the Odisha Assembly in Bhubaneswar on bicycles as a mark of protest against the rise in fuel prices.

Congress legislators Suresh Kumar Routray, Taraprasad Bahinipati and Adhiraj Panigrahi were seen riding bicycles from Congress Bhawan to the State Assembly.

Everyday, prices of petrol and diesel continue to witness a hike.We urge both the State and Centre should immediate reduce taxes to stabilise the fuel price to give a sigh a relief to the people,” said Bahinipati.

The fuel prices in the neighbouring state have come down to about Rs 10-12 per litre due to the reduction in VAT. The Odisha government should take similar steps. During the Covid times Modi Government has hiked petrol by Rs 10 and diesel by Rs 13, he said.
