“Had a fruitful discussion with Rahul, but can’t disclose anything to media”: LoP

“Had a fruitful discussion with Rahul, but can't disclose anything to media”: LoP New Delhi: Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Odisha Assembly and senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra on Thursday said he had a ‘fruitful discussion’ with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, but refused to disclose what transpired at the meeting to the media.

“I had a fruitful discussion with Rahul Gandhi Ji and I am happy with the outcome,” said Mishra after meeting Rahul this afternoon.

When asked about the subject of their discussion and any possible change of the Odisha PCC head, the LoP said, “We should not discuss the internal matters of the party in the media. I will not speak what discussion was held but the entire discussion was only on politics – both national and state.”

Asked whether he discussed the strategy for the 2019 general election from now as the party is weak in Odisha, Mishra claimed that Congress is not weak in Odisha and it is false propaganda of the media. He backed his statement with the Komna Zone II ZP election result.

“Congress is not weak. Media has always misled the people. Party’s Komna Zone II ZP election result, where Congress got second position, shows we are strong enough whereas BJP came a poor third even in the district which belongs to its state president Basanta Panda,” he added.
