Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has made special bus arrangements for bonafide passengers in view of the cancellation and diversion of trains. The ECoR has decided to cancel and divert around 25 trains between April 25 and May 8 for the commissioning of double line work between Kapilas Road and Salagaon Railway stations.

Railway officials said that as many as 747 passengers were provided with the free bus service last night and adequate Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel have also been deployed at Cuttack and Naraj Marthapur Railway stations for the security of passengers and their luggage.

“The bus service is being managed by ticket checking staffs to guide the passengers to avail free bus service both at Cuttack and Naraj Marthapur railway stations. Help desks have also been opened at Cuttack and Naraj Marthpur stations during the scheduled running time of diverted trains to guide passengers. We have also been sending messages to the mobile phones of affected passengers of the diverted trains to arrive one hour before the scheduled departure of their trains (for boarding passengers) and also to get down at Naraj Marthapur (for deboarding passengers),” said an official of ECoR.
