Angul: Banarpal Police seized four container trucks illegally smuggling over 200 cattle on early Wednesday morning. One person has been held by the police in this case, while another two escaped.
As per reports, the Banarpal Police, of Angul district, had gotten information of cattle smuggling. Upon getting tipped, the police waited at Narendrapur for the containers to arrive.
At around 2 am, the container trucks arrived at Narendrapur. Police stopped them and conducted a search on them. Driver and helper of one of the vehicles escaped sensing trouble. Another driver is in custody of Banarpal Police.
The Police said that the cattle were being smuggled from Sambalpur to West Bengal.
