Four Of A Family Critical After Acid Attack In Odisha

Rourkela: In a shocking incident, four members of a family were critically injured in an acid attack at Sector-A area under Bandhamunda police limits here in Odisha last night.

The victims have been identified as Nagendra Pandey, wife Sangeeta, younger brother Bidyakanta and mother Sulochana.

The injured persons were rushed to Bandhamunda Railway hospital for their treatment. Later, they were shifted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here as their health condition was deteriorated.

According to reports, the accused, identified as Santosh Soni, barged into the house of Nagendra and threw acid on him and his family members over past enmity.

Soon after the incident, Soni fled from the spot. He allegedly attacked the family members of Nagendra due a dispute over land in the steel city.

Meanwhile, Bandhamunda police arrested Soni in this connection.
