Four Arrested For Stoning Man To Death Over Auto Fare in Odisha

Cuttack: Police today arrested four persons for allegedly killing a person over a dispute related to auto-rickshaw fare near Arunodaya Market under Badambadi police limits on July 31.

The accused have been identified as Nirakar Guru, Ganesh Nayak, Kishan Nayak and Shiba Prasad Sahu.

Police said that the body of one Subhranshu Satpathy, a resident of Pattamundai in Kendrapara district was found with multiple injuries near the market.

Police said that the Sapathy had been to Cuttack for treatment of his ailing mother

“The victim took an auto-rickshaw from Satichoura to go to Arunodaya Market. However, Satpathy had an argument with the auto-rickshaw driver Ganesh over the fare. He later called the other accused who stoned the victim to death. They also decamped with cash of Rs 5000 from the victim,” said a police official.
