Bhubaneswar: Former Director of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, Aswini Pujahari made his foray into the political career today by joining Congress Party.
Pujahari was inducted into the grand old party’s fold by OPCC president Niranjan Patanaik at Congress Bhawan in the noon.
Notably, Pujahari had stepped down as the VIMSAR director on February 9 this year after courting controversy for treating ‘salt therapy’ on a patient during surgery, which is considered as ‘unethical’ medical practise. Pujahari claimed use of table salt on cancer patient to be beneficial.
He was also sent on leave until further notice over the issue latter and quit after two months of the action.
