Former OPCC chief Jayadev Jena’s son Sangram Jena passes away at 43

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Youth Congress president Sangram Jena, son of former Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Jayadev Jena, succumbed to post-COVID complications at a hospital in Hyderabad this morning. He was 43 and survived by his wife and two children.

Sources said he was under Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support for the last 84 days at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was undergoing treatment after contracting Covid-19.

He was airlifted to the private healthcare facility in Hyderabad on May 23 after his condition deteriorated due to COVID-19 related complications.

Sangram had been elected as the president of the Odisha Pradesh Youth Congress (OPYC) in the year 2011. He was the vice-president and general secretary of OPYC. He was also active in politics during his student days also.
