Former Koraput district president Sibaprasad Patnaik quits Congress

Koraput: Former Koraput district president Sibaprasad Patnaik resigned from the Congress party on Sunday.

Patnaik alleged that like other senior and good leaders of the party, he has been sidelined for vested interests of others. However, he informed that he has not yet taken decision to join any political party saying he would take a decision in this regard only after meeting his supporters.

“My decision to quit the Congress party is based on my own free will. However, MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati has requested me to reconsider my decision to quit and wants me back. I have not planned of joining any other party as of now. I will meet my supporters and decide on which party to join,” said Patnaik while speaking to the newsmen on his decision.

Sibaprasad’s resignation came just after Niranjan Patnaik’s appointment as the new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Chief.

Sibaprasad was in the grand old party for the last 33 years and was in-charge of different posts.
