Former Inmate Of Jalespeta Ashram Arrested For Making Death Threats To Swamiji Jivan Muktananda Puri

Baliguda: Kandhamal district police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly making a death threat call to Jivan Muktananda Puri, the Swamiji of Jivan Muktananda Ashram in Jalespeta in district.

The arrested person has been identified as Mahadev Baba, said sources adding that he was arrested from the Bissam Cuttack area of Rayagada district.

Mahadev was earlier staying at Chakapada and Jalespeta Ashrams, said the sources.

It is to be noted here that the Swamiji allegedly got a call on Saturday from an unknown person who introduced himself as a Naxal.

Apart from threatening to kill the Swamiji to kill him, the accused also allegedly threatened to destroy the Sanskrit Kanyashrama of Shankaracharya.

A complaint was lodged at Tumudibandha Police station following the threat call and security of the Ashram was also beefed up.
