Bhawanipatna: While the Odisha unit of Congress is busy in strengthening its base at grassroot level in view of the upcoming general election, its former MLA from Bhawanipatna constituency in Kalahandi district Dushmant Nayak left the party on Wednesday.
Nayak said goodbye to the grand old party citing personal reasons. He has sent his resignation letter to Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik.
Earlier, he had alleged that some senior leaders in the party had humiliated and neglected him. Besides, he had even said that he was unhappy over party affairs.
If sources are to believe, Dushmant will join the state ruling BJD party on July 13.
He had won the fourteenth Assembly election in 2009 as Congress candidate of Bhawanipatna constituency.
