Forester of Komna under Khariar Forest Division intercepted by Odisha Vigilance

Nuapada: Tightening the noose around the neck of corrupt officials the Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday intercepted the forester of Komna section under Khariar Forest Division in Nuapada district on Wednesday.

The accused forester has been identified as Ghanashyam Sabar.

As per reports, on receipt of reliable information regarding collection of huge cash by Ghanashyam Sabar, Forester, Komna Section under Khariar Forest Division, Khariar, Dist-Nuapada as illegal gratification from different sources, a team of Odisha Vigilance kept a close watch over the movement and activities of Sabar.

Accordingly, today i.e. on 07.12.2022 at about 8.00 PM, the team of Odisha Vigilance intercepted him on NH-353 while he was plying to his residence at Khariar town by his motor cycle bearing registration No.OD-26F-4075.

During interception, suspected ill-gotten cash of Rs.5,05,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs Five Thousand) was recovered from the possession of Sabar, which he could not account for satisfactorily.

Soon after the interception, during simultaneous searches conducted at his Govt. residential quarter located at Komna, further cash of Rs.8,00,000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs) has been recovered.

Also, Rs.80,000/- (Rupees Eighty Thousand) cash was recovered from his office table drawer during search at his office at Komna.

With this total cash recovery is Rs.13,85,000/- (Rupees Thirteen Lakhs Eighty Five Thousand), which Forester Sabar could not account for satisfactorily.

Following this, simultaneous searches have been launched at the residential house  of Sabar located at Khariar, Dist-Nuapada and his parental house located at Borogaon, under Khariar Police Station.

Further searches are continuing.
