Forest Dept, Villagers give security to pregnant snake: Python eggs hatch in Khordha dist of Odisha

Khordha: A couple of python eggs that had been collected last month from the Garh Nial village under Chandaka Forest range hatched lately in this district of Odisha. Since last month the villagers the eggs were under supervision.

It is to be noted that on last May 5, few locals of Garh Nial village came across with a huge python in the nearby forest when it was slithering through thorny bushes. They immediately called the Snake Helpline members and Forest officials. It was then observed that the snake was pregnant and it is time to lay egg. And the reptile needs a secured environment to lay egg.

Accordingly, the locals cordoned the area along with the help of the Forest Ranger so that the python can lay egg without any hassle.

Later the python laid a couple of eggs. However, after some days the villagers had to shift the eggs to keep it safe from the fury of rain. Accordingly, the eggs were kept in the Haladia range. And now, the eggs hatched.
