Fluctuation in daily reported Covid cases causing concern in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A total of 276 Covid-19 positive cases including 55 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,43,745 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Monday.

Among the 276 positives, 159 are quarantine cases and 117 are local contacts. However, 347 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,31,850.

Earlier on Sunday, Odisha reported 318 Covid-19 positive cases including 58 in the 0-18 years age group.

Besides, the state pool has 31 new covid cases.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of four COVID infected patients including two from Bhubaneswar, taking the death toll to 8,361 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

1. A 51 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Interstitial Lung Disease.

2. A 84 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease, Post Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus & Dilated Cardiomyopathy.

3. A 55 years old Male of Ganjam District who was also suffering from Carcinoma Rectum.

4. A 50 years old Female of Puri District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Obesity.
