Flood situation turns grim in Banki, several bridges submerged

Cuttack: Following incessant rain in the upper catchment areas of river Mahanadi several areas in Banki have been inundated under floodwater.

As per the report, floodwater is flowing at a height of 4 feet over the Huluhula bridge currently snapping the road communication between Ratagarh and Banki completely.

Similarly, the floodwater from Chadrada river has submerged the Anuari-Ratagarh road of late due to which traffic flow on the route has come to a standstill since this morning.

The situation in Ostia panchayat has also remained grim as the floodwater started inundating the Anandpur road sending people into a state of panic.

According to a report, over 6 lakh cusecs of floodwater is entering into Mahanadi near Banki every second.
