Flight operations between Bhubaneswar and Kathmandu get green signal from DGCA!

Bhubaneswar: In what can be considered good news for the people of Odisha, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has reportedly given a green signal for flight operations between Nepal’s capital-Kathmandu and Odisha’s capital- Bhubaneswar.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, in his reply to BJD MP Amar Patnaik’s demand, said that it is reasonable to begin the flight services between Kathmandu and Bhubaneswar. However, as it is purely a commercial decision of Airlines on the basis of the economic viability of the route, some airlines should express their willingness to start the service.

He also stated that the proposal to run flights between Kathmandu and Bhubaneswar and vice-versa will be given to some leading airline companies.

It is to be noted here that Amar Patnaik had on May 29 had written a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister to begin the international flight services between the two destinations saying that thousands of students from Nepal studying in Odisha. Besides, thousands of Nepalese are living in the State.
