Flight makes emergency landing at Bhubaneswar Airport, here’s why

Bhubaneswar: A Chennai-bound flight on Sunday made an emergency landing at Bhubaneswar-based Biju Patnaik International Airport due to a medical emergency.

According to Airport Director Dr. Pravat Ranjan Beuria, flight no.i5 -1531 of the Air Asia was on its way to Chennai from Ranchi. However, it made an emergency landing after a 40-year-old passenger named Basant Kumar Paswan was unable to breathe as informed by the Air traffic controller (ATC).

Paswan along with three members of his family was offloaded after the flight safely landed at the airport, informed Beuria adding that the sick passenger was soon rushed to the Capital Hospital for treatment.

Later, the Air Asia flight left the Bhubaneswar Airport for its destination.
