Five places record temperatures above 42 degree Celsius in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is reeling under an intense heat wave as five places of the State record temperature above 42 degree Celsius today.

The latest bulletin of the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar revealed that Baripada was the hottest place in Odisha today as it reported today’s highest temperature 42.6 degree Celsius.

The four other locations where the mercury touched the 42 degree mark are Balangir (42.5), Jharsuguda (42.4), Sonepur (42.1) and Boudh (42).

This apart, Angul, Titilagarh and Sambalpur sizzled at a temperature of 41.9, 41.6 and 41.4 degree Celsius respectively. Likewise, people of Sundergarh boiled at 41 degree Celsius temperature.

The maximum day temperature soared above 40 degree in Hirakud (40.9), Bhawanipatna (40.8) and Talcher (40.2) as well.
