Rayagada: Police today arrested five persons including three juveniles for allegedly killing M Suresh Kumar (19), a plus two student of Rayagada Autonomous College. The body of Kumar was found lying near LIC office in Kasturi Nagar on Sunday morning.
Rayagada SP, Sarvana Vivek M said that the crime took place over a love affair. “The accused called the deceased and took him to an isolated place. The deceased had a heated argument with one of the accused who is a juvenile. Later the group of accused assaulted him with hands for around two hours. The deceased succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” said the SP.
Later they took the body of the deceased on a motorcycle and dumped the body two kilometres away from the crime spot. “The accused were identified on the basis of CCTV footage. Two of the accused have been forwarded to the court while the three juveniles will be sent to Observation Home in Berhampur,” added Vivek M.
Police said that the two accused forwarded to the court have been identified as Niranjan Bidika (29) and P Pawan Kalyan (20).
