Bhubaneswar: The five-day-long exhibition-cum-seminar on ‘New India – We Resolve to Make’ concluded at the Institute of Physics here on Wednesday.
At the valedictory session of the event, Sarat Chandra Mishra, former DG of Police and Jagadananda, former Chief Information Commissioner of the state, spoke on the theme of a corruption-free India.
Sudhakar Panda, Director, Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, was the chief guest while Munawar Khurseed, IRPF, Chief Vigilance Officer, MCL, presided over the session.
Talks on resolutions ‘To make the country free of Filth’, ‘Parliamentary democracy’, ‘Skill India’, ‘communalism free India’ and ‘Corruption free India’ were organized during the five-day-long event.
The exhibition was focused on India’s freedom movement from 1857 to 1947 showing the various activities initiated to attain freedom from the British rule – “The First War of Independence, 1857”, “The Champaran Satyagrah”, “The Non-Co-operation movement”, “The Dandi Yatra” and the Quit India Movement.
The vision of New India from 2017 to 2022 – when country will be celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence – was also showcased during the exhibition.
The exhibition-cum-seminar, which was organised by Ministry of Parliamentary affairs in association with Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) and DAVP, was inaugurated on 9th September, 2017 by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Hundreds of school children and youths took part in the programme.
