Bhubaneswar: Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force arrested five dacoits last night near Bhubaneswar railway station while they were planning to commit dacoity in running trains.
The accused have been identified as Papu Kumar (32), Avinash Kumar (29), Dhiraj Kumar (25), all natives of Bihar and Dipak Pradhan (23), Trilochan Naik, both hailing from Cuttack district. Police have seized several sharp-edged weapons and packets of red chilli powder.
Police said that during interrogation they confessed that they have committed theft of gold ornaments from the trolley bag of passengers in running trains near Balugaon and Bhusandapur last week. Police said that all the accused have been forwarded to the court today.
