Rourkela: Tension prevailed at Bisra Chhak in the Steel City today after a fish-laden truck overturned during ‘Bharat Bandh’ protest leaving two persons injured.
The injured persons have been identified as the driver and helper of the truck.
As per the report, the fish-laden truck was en-route to Rourkela in the early hours of the morning while the protesters had staged a blockade at Bisra Chhak. As they tried to intercept the vehicle it the driver lost control over the wheels in a bid to escape from the spot and overturned.
While the driver and the helper of the vehicle sustained injuries in the overturn, some bystanders allegedly stole some fish spilt on the road as a result of the accident.
Later, the local police rushed to the spot and cordoned off the accident site to prevent loot.
The overturned vehicle was repositioned with the help of a crane later.
