First time in Odisha: School students visit Orissa High Court premises

Cuttack: In a first of its kind in Odisha, a total of 25 school students visited the Orissa High Court premises on the occasion of Children’s Day on Sunday.

This is the first time that the High Court permitted students to visit the court premises and learn things about the judiciary system.

The students who got the opportunity to visit the High Court campus are the Class XI and XII students of Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School, Cuttack.

They visited Chief Justice’s Court Hall, different halls of the court, Bar Association and Judicial Academy of the High Court.

Apart from their visits, they had an interaction with Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Justice S. Muralidhar during which they asked different questions regarding the function of the court.

While speaking to the students, the Chief Justice explained how the judges and lawyers fight against injustice and inequality. They help the people, who are deprived of justice, to get justice. He also advised them make career in the legal profession.
