Puri: The first preparatory meeting of the co-ordination committee for the annual Rath Yatra festivities will be held today. At the meeting, district officials, Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) and other officials of temple administration, including the sevayats will be present.
The meeting will be held in the Conference Hall of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic University. It will be chaired by the RDC.
The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) will submit a report regarding the measures to be taken by the district administration as well as the Odisha Police for smooth conduct of Rath Yatra arrangements.
Puri Collector, Superintendent of Police (SP), various departmental heads and other important district-level officials will also be present at the preparatory meeting.
Noteworthy, the annual Rath Yatra festivities will begin from July 4 this year.
