Fire breaks out at SCB Hospital in Cuttack

Cuttack: A fire broke out at the Pathology Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital here in Odisha on Friday morning. At least two rooms were gutted in the fire mishap and property worth lakhs was destroyed in the fire.

On being informed, in-house Fire brigade officials rushed to the spot. Later, Fire brigade teams helped in dousing the fire.

Sources said that the fire was caused due to a short circuit originating from the AC fitted in the pathology department. The fire further spread due to the presence of chemicals.

The state Government-run hospital is taking necessary steps to finish the tests that were to be completed by the Pathology department.

However, no casualties have been reported.
