Cuttack: A fire broke out in the auditorium of National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) in Cuttack this afternoon.
Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, fire officials suspect short circuit behind the mishap.
As per reports, security guards first witnessed smoke billowing out of the auditorium at around 12.55 pm. They later informed the Odisha Fire Service which reached the spot and brought the fire under control.
Fire officials said that three fire tenders were used to control the fire. “The fire was controlled in the primary stage. We have also started an investigation to ascertain the cause of the mishap,” said fire personnel.
