Fire breaks out at NHM office in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out at the National Health Mission (NHM) office situated in Unit-8 area of state capital city here this evening.

Though no loss of life is reported yet, a source said that hundreds of important files and documents have been reduced to ashes in the fire that broke out on the second floor of the two-storey building.

While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be known, short-circuit is assumed to be the cause of the inferno.

Firefighters are on the site and are trying to douse the fire.

The incident has left the residents of the Smart City panicked as it the second such incident in the day.

Earlier in the day, a major fire broke out in the city-based Apollo Hospital. Most of the patients including those who were in the intensive care units (ICUs) were immediately evacuated. Some of the patients are said to have been shifted to other hospitals in the city.
