Finally, Leopard captured in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: After a day-long operation, the Forest officials successfully captured the leopard near the cargo gate of the Biju Patnaik International Airport here in Odisha in the wee hours on Wednesday.

Sources said, the leopard was trapped in a cage set up by the forest officials by using few hens as live bait to lure it.

The big cat has now safely been shifted to Nandankanan Zoological Park here, informed a Forest official.

The big cat had strayed into  Palaspali area in the city on Sunday night and was spotted again in the wee hours of Tuesday by a CISF personnel deployed at the ATS Tower.

A 10-member tranquilizer team of Nandankanan, a wildlife expert from OUAT  were also involved in the operation.
