Fifth Criminal Injured In Exchange Of Fire In Odisha Capital In Last 48 Hours

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police nabbed another criminal following an exchange of fire near Khandagiri this evening. The accused Ravi Rao became the fifth history-sheeter to be injured in police firing in last 48 hours.

Police said that Rao has sustained bullet injury on his right leg and has been rushed to the Capital Hospital.

“ Rao was also a member of the gang which was on the prowl in the city. The gang was involved in a series of robbery, loot and snatching incidents in the city in last two months,” said a police official.

Earlier four members of the gang have faced police encounter in the last two days. “ Rao was a veteran criminal and was injured in the exchange of fire with the police in April 2016. We are further verifying his antecedents,” said the police official.
