FIFA Delegation Takes Stock Of Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: A four-member team of International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) led by Oliver Vogt today visited Kalinga Stadium to take stock of infrastructure of the stadium, which will host the U-17 Women’s Football World Cup 2020 along with Goa, Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

The team made an inspection of the player’s dressing rooms, media lounge, VIP lounge, broadcast zone and the playing area. They will submit their reports regarding the venue.

India has been confirmed as the host of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2020 in FIFA Council meeting at Miami, USA on March 15. This will be the second FIFA tournament to be hosted by India after the U-17 Men’s World Cup in 2017.

The stadium had also hosted matches in the Indian Super League (ISL), the top professional soccer league of the country in 2017.
