Keonjhar: Fed-up with his family dispute, a youth reportedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the Baitarani River in the Keonjhar district this afternoon.
The youth has been identified as Ranjan Kumar Sahu of Fakirpur area under the Anandpur municipality of the district.
Ranjan jumped into the river from the pole of Baitarani River with an aim to end his life. However, locals reported the matter to the fire department.
Later, firefighters from Anandpur rushed to the spot and rescued Ranjan in an unconscious state. He was admitted to Anandpur Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
Speaking about Ranjan’s health condition, the doctor who are treating him said that he is stable now and likely to recover completely in a couple of days.
