Malkangiri: With no respite in sight from witchcraft-related killings in the State, a father-son duo brutally murdered by unidentified miscreants in Maliguda village under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri last night.
The deceased have been identified as Sadan Mali and his son Nilendra Mali.
Sadan who was being suspected by some of his neighbours in the village of practising black magic had been to a nearby village along with his son yesterday and returning home late in the night when the attack took place. A group of villagers thrashed them brutally with cudgels and killed on the spot.
The assailants later dumped the bodies of the deceased on a nearby riverbed to destroy all evidence.
Police rushed to the spot this morning after some locals spotted the bodies and called up them.
At least two persons who are involved in the killing have surrendered before police till last reports came in.
