Jajpur: In a shocking incident, a farmer was electrocuted to death after coming in contact with high voltage transmission wire in Tulati village under Korei police limits in the district this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rabindra Kumar Mallick (48) of the same village.
As per the report, Rabindra who visited crop field located near the village early this morning to harvest paddy, unknowingly stepped on a snapped 11 kv transmission wire. He turned critical on the spot.
Though some locals rescued Rabindra after disconnecting power supply with the help of electricity department officials and rushed to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
