Fani Precaution: 5 special OSRTC buses start carrying tourists from Puri to Kolkata

Puri: Launching more precautionary measures to ensure safety of tourists in the wake of the impending cyclonic storm Fani, the district administration here made arrangements for special OSRTC buses to carry passengers from religious town Puri to Kolkata.

As per the report, as many as five buses have been pressed into tourist transportation from Puri to Kolkata with the ticket price of Rs 650 per passenger. The first bus of the fleet left for Kolkata at 10 am this morning.

Notably, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) had launched a special train from Puri to Shalimar earlier in the morning and it left for the destination at 12 noon. Later, South Eastern Railway (SER) pressed in another two special trains for the same purpose.

As per the latest update by IMD on Fani, the severe cyclonic storm presently lays at a distance of 450 kilometres from Puri coast and heads at a speed of 15 kmph.
