Dhenkanal: The famous Magha Mela at the Mahima Gaadi of Joranda in Dhenkanal district of Odisha will begin from tomorrow amid Covid restrictions. The fair will continue till February 17.
Ahead of the mela the preparation meeting was held amid presence of officers from the District Administration, Police, Bakaladhari Mahima Samaj and Koupindhari Mahima saints. All the preparations for the Mela have been made.
This time there will not be any cultural programme, Jatra, Mina Bazar, Swing or Exhibition. The fair will be organised only with participation of saints and the followers of Mahima Dharma. As per the traditions, lighting of the lamp will be there while all other rituals will be performed.
All arrangements have been made for lighting, drinking water, sanitation and deployment of Police personnel for swift and peaceful execution of the fair. Due to Covid pandemic, restrictions have been imposed in the joining of Saints from out of the State.
