Ganjam: One person was killed and four of his family members injured after a group of villagers attacked them with sharp edged weapon Nuagada village under Sorada police station limits in the district this afternoon.
As per reports, the youths barged into the house and started attacking the family members of Bidura Naik. As a result of which the son of Naik, Manoj sustained critical injuries and died while being taken to the nearest hospital.
Police said that the other members who were injured in the attack include Bidura’s wife, father and mother. All of them are currently undergoing treatment at Sorada Community Heath Centre.
Police have started an investigation into the incident. “ Prima facie it appeared that past enmity was the reason behind the crime. Further investigation in the case is continuing and we are trying to nab the accused,” said a police official.
