Fake currency notes worth Rs 7 lakh seized in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissonerate Police on Wednesday seized fake Indian currency notes with a face value of Rs 200 from Kharvel Nagar area in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday and arrested 2 persons in this connection.

The two arrested accused have been identified as S Satya Narayan Prusty and Bhula Pradhan.

Acting on a tip-off about possession and circulation of Fake Indian Currency Notes at Master Canteen near Reliance smart, a raid was conducted. Based on the written complaint of Sub Inspector Jyoti Shankar Samal, the above noted cafe was registered and investigated.

During the search and search of personal belongings, huge quantities of 200 rupees fake currency notes have been recovered.

During investigation, it was ascertained that accused S Satya Narayan Prusty has been running a coaching center in his native village at Bhanjanagar in Ganjam. With the ambition of getting rich, he came in contact with Bhula Pradhan who has computer knowledge.

Both of them decided to start manufacturing Fake Indian Currency Notes for the purpose of using them as genuine in rural areas. They also tried to collect money from job aspiring students with false promise of job and S Satya Narayan Prusty identifies him as a high officials.

Besides, they target innocent persons and ask them to collect Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes in exchange of 200 rupees currency notes and alluring them marginal profits. So taking opportunities they exchange the counterfeit currency notes with that of the genuine notes of persons.

On March 1, 2022, getting the tip off about possession and circulation of fake Indian Currency notes. raids were conducted and both the accused persons were apprehended.

Accused Bhula Pradhan confessed to having manufacturing unit in his house at Subarnpur under Jarada police limits in Ganjam.

A team of special squad, proceeded to Jarada and recovered a laptop, colour printer and other accessories used for manufacturing counterfeit currency notes. Both cheated one Bismay Kumar Hota worth of Rs 4,25,000/- and one Siba Ranjan Muduli worth of Rs, 20,00,000.

Both accused persons have been arrested on March 1 and are will be forwarded to Court today.
