Fake Currency Notes Worth Rs 2.3 Lakh Seized In Odisha, One Arrested

Rayagada: Police have seized fake currency notes worth Rs 2.3 lakh from a person during a raid at a house in Sunamudi Sahi under Tikiri police station limits in the district.

The accused has been identified as Jogendra Naik (25). Acting on a tipoff police raided Naik’s house last night and seized as many as 115 counterfeit currency notes of Rs2000 denomination from his possession.

“We are further interrogating the accused to ascertain the source of procurement of the fake currency notes. We are also trying to find out the possible involvement of others. The accused will be forwarded to the court today,” said a police official.
