Rourkela: Birmitrapur police in Sundargarh district arrested six members of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) members including a retired assistant commandant of Border Security Force (BSF) late on Sunday night.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the Kuanramunda forest in the night and apprehended Jadumani Patra (claiming to be ex-BSF personnel), Sandeep Ekka, Suraj Sahu, Butru Khadia, Vishal Thakur and Riba Xalxo.
Police also seized four rifles including 2 double-barrel guns, 2 pistols, 50 live rounds of bullets and tools used in explosives.
Seven members of the black listed PLFI, including the zonal committee member Arjun Rana and area commander Karan Sai were earlier on Saturday night arrested by Kuanrmunda police. They were arrested during a raid at Kukudabahal forest.
One carbine, 3 double barrel rifles, one 9MM pistol and 50 rounds of live cartridges were also seized from their possession.
