EVM Vandalisation: Orissa HC Grants Anticipatory Bail to BJP Candidate OM Prakash Mishra

Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to BJP MLA candidate from Satyabadi Assembly segment Om Prakash Mishra, in connection with the alleged vandalisation of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) at a polling booth in Puri during third phase elections on April 23.

This was informed by senior counsel and BJP leader Pitambar Acharya.

After the incident, Mishra allegedly went absconding and the police had to issue a lookout circular against him to track his whereabouts. A special Police squad was also formed to nab him.

Two supporters of Mishra have also been arrested for their alleged involvement in the EVM vandalisation case.
