Cuttack: The eviction drive for the expansion of road around Srirama Chandra Bhanja Medical College and Hospital (SCBMH) continues today in Cuttack’s Ranihat canal road area. The old building Hind cinema hall will pulled down today.
The Cuttack District Administration, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation and Cuttack Development Authority jointly began the eviction drive at 8 am.
According to reports, the expansion of the south side near Taladanda canal will be conducted to control the congestion and traffic.
The eviction drive resumed as a part of the expansion and redevelopment project of SCB Hospital for which two platoons of police force have been deployed.
As many as 30 shops have been demolished during the eviction drive for which five poclain machines are being used. Following this the Hind cinema hall will be demolished.
Earlier this year, the eviction drive began where the Cuttack Collector and CMC Commissioner said that adequate compensation will be provided to those affected and they shall be properly relocated.
