Bhubaneswar: Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb on Thursday said that everyone has to obey the Supreme Court verdict. In his first reactions after SC stayed on the world famous Ratha Yatra, Gajapati Maharaj said, “Mahaprabhu’s devotees across the world will feel sad. But everyone has to obey the SC verdict. It’s mandatory to obey.”
“A meeting of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee will be held soon. As the cart festival cannot be conducted outside, we will seek suggestion of Shankaracharya on feasibility of conducting rituals inside Srimandir premises,” Gajapati Maharaj added.
Earlier today, the apex court of the country, in a historic judgment, stalled Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra in the wake of Covid19 pandemic.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will chair State Cabinet meeting at 7.30 pm today during which the matter is slated to be discussed. Advocate General, Development Commissioner, Law Secretary, Shree Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator will attend the meeting.
