Every Creative Artist deserves a platform to showcase talent: Pranay Jethy

The hard work of many people lies behind the success of a film. Some of them work in front of the camera and some are behind the camera. Among the persons who work behind the camera, the media planner executes a major role. A leading media planner of Odia film industry is Pranay Jethy.

People recognize Pranay Jethy as creative head, producer of Odia glamour industry, journalist and a media planner. However, very few know about Jethy’s hidden talent, that is, he is also a theatre artist.

A well-known face in Odia film Industry, Pranay Jethy recently said in an Interview with Celebrity Club, “Be it as a producer or a journalist, my prior duty is to provide a suitable platform to talented artists.”

“There are many creative artists in our state who don’t get opportunity to showcase their talent. As I believe ‘service to mankind is service to God’, whenever I get a chance I extend a helping hand to others”, said Pranay.

Hailing from a small village Pandua of Paradip, Pranay started his acting career at an early age. During his student-life Pranay starred in the Rourkela and Berhampur drama festivals. He first performed on stage when he was in class eight in BB High School, Kujang. He acted in the mythological play ‘BANA HARANA’. Later, while pursuing his higher studies Pranay came in contact with play script writer and director, Kartik Rath. He then got an opportunity to act in a play in Salepur College and later played a character in ‘Goitha Baba’ play in Khalikot.

 

Pranay pursued his Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology at Khalikote Autonomous College, Berhampur. Along with acting, he also conducted fashion shows at various places taking Jyoti Mishra, Kriti, Jubuli Sundaray, Satyaki Mishra, Buddha.

His hard work and dedication towards his work to achieve his dream never stopped.

Standing for the truth and thinking about the advancement and evolution inspired him to become a journalist. After completing his Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication in Berhampur University, he became an editor for a Berhampur owned print media for about two years. He then joined the ‘Anupam Bharat’ newspaper.

Even as he continued his career as a journalist, he could not let go of his passion for acting. He got an opportunity to act in few Odia album songs directed by Jayaprakash Mohanty. Later, he got role in Hara Patnaik and Chandi Parija directed tele-serials and also acted in Karthik Rath directed tele-films.

After working with print media, Pranay had an opportunity to work in some creative and entertaining programs in the electronic media. So, he joined ETV as a program producer. At that time, under his supervision mega program “Mausi” became quite popular. In addition to this, his design, “Phone in Live Show,” was launched by ETV. Through that show, few album artists like Naina Das, Priya, Sonali, Suman, Upasana, Lipi and Pupinder got chance to do anchoring.

Pranay Jethi then directed the screening and screenplay of popular shows like ‘Tum Bina’, ‘Srimati Kam Nuhanti’, ‘Chhota Mor Gaanti’ and ‘Sriman-Srimati.’

Fed up with his professional journalism job, Pranay started an ad agency called ‘Vision India’. Through that agency he devoted his time in advertising. He also released few audios and albums on television channels through Vision India. For the first time Pranay co-produced film “Kichi Khata Kichi Mitha”, and later produced the film “Sindoor”.

Till now Pranay has produced films including “To Bina Bhal Lagena” , “Hasib Phuni Mo Suna Sansar” and his recent movie to release “Shahid Raghu Sardar”.

Be it in News or in Television, he has been successful in bringing the artists to the forefront by honoring them as guests.

Pranay’s programs such as ‘Priya Odia’, ‘Youth Icon’, ‘Mahamilan’, ‘Sampurna’, ‘Kalinga Gaurab’, ‘Anniversary’, ‘Bass Mahotsav’ and ‘Amari Swar’ have become quite popular.

After all hard work, Pranay came up with his individual news channel “AMA TV” (on Web), where apart from telecasting news, educators, social workers, he  promotes films and artists through this channel. He is also founder member of social organisation ‘WE ARE NETAJI SUBASH BOSE’.

While talking about growth of Cine Industry, Pranay Jethy said, “We don’t make films that are based on the emotions of the audience, even in television the story of serial doesn’t make any sense.”

“We move away from the village tradition and often adopt the western or neighboring traditions. This indirectly reflects in our films too and time by time the omission of culture and tradition were seen in the films”, he added.

“Our Odia Industry’s films, artiste and technicians will survive only if producers and directors will do more research and experiment before making a film or serial. On the other hand, Odia audiences should also be interested in watching Odia language movies,” he signed off.
