EOW Odisha arrests yet another for cheating and fraud

Bhubaneswar: Economic Offences Wing of Bhubaneswar has arrested accused Rajeev Lochan Das from Bhubaneswar in EOW PS Case. The accused was produced before the Court of SDJM,
Bhubaneswar today.

This case was registered on the written allegation of one Nisharani Mohapatra against the arrested accused Rajeev Lochan Das and others for taking loan of Rs.5.5 Cr. fraudulently by showing the forged documents and misappropriation of the same.

The accused Rajeev Lochan Das, one of the Directors of Lumex Resources Pvt. Ltd. had taken a loan of Rs. 5.5 Crore from the complainant Nisharani Mohapatra during the year 2019 by showing some forged documents.

After availing the loan fraudulently, the accused did not repay the loan after some initial repayments and finally stopped repayment and misappropriated the amount by not utilizing the same for the purpose for which the loan was taken.

Incriminating documents like agreements and e-mail correspondences have been seized from the accused. The investigation of the case is underway.

Recently on April 30, 2023, economic Offences Wing arrested accused persons namely 1.Sachin Pal, 2. Ankush Singh and 3. Kuldeep from Vijaynagar PS area, Ghaziabad, U.P on 28.04.2023 in connection with EOW Case.

After the arrest, accused persons were produced before  the Hon’ble Court of CJM, Ghaziabad and were brought to Bhubaneswar on 03 days transit remand for their production before the Hon’ble Court of SDJM, Bhubaneswar.

The above noted case was registered consequent upon an enquiry made on the allegation of one Parthasarathi Pattnaik against a digital marketing channel registered as r46 (website) that was cheating the general public in the name of giving extra income through digital marketing.
